I've been following you for a long time now. You are beautiful and talented. :) I wanted to ask what your inspirations for your drawings (the last ones) were?
i smear coal on paper. and on the floor. and on walls. and into my face. my professor calls it »picturesque perception«, you call it »talent« — i suppose i am fine with both …
light and shadow and squinted vision, which is slowly adjusting in the dark, and walls awakening with it. my fascination for light and windows and the things they do in combination has once again played a trick on me.
thank you for following and being inquisitive for things of that nature.
It is not necessary to leave the house. Remain by your table and hark. Do not even hark, simply wait. Do not even wait, be entirely silent and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.
— Franz Kafka, Betrachtung über Sünde, Leid, Hoffnung und den wahren Weg (The Zürau Aphorisms)
what do you mean? i am here and there. mainly here.
Dustin O’Halloran - Opus 37
Dear Jana, i wish to ask you something.. where did you exhibit your work with the bed and drawing? it's beautiful !
a place near the dutch border called »artoll«, which was initially a psychiatrical infirmary.
Was wondering if there was any chance I could get a comprehensive answer to this curious question of mine. What are your favourite books/authors, and why? If you feel like answer even more, I'm also curious about artists you like.
my all time favorites are probably henry miller’s »tropic of cancer«, charles bukowski (»post office« along with a vast amount of his poetry), franz kafka’s »the metamorphosis«, ingeborg bachmann’s »malina«, haruki murakami (especially »norwegian wood«), hermann hesse’s »steppenwolf«, yann martel’s »life of pi«, and as of late georges perec’s »un homme qui dort«.
i am fond of a lot more authors/books, but these particular ones i identified with fully or at least i layed hands and eyes on them in a time in which they moved me the most.
surely i could be more elaborative here, but if you’d share my passion for these authors and their work in any form, i am sure you understand why they are somewhat special.
i have made a list of artists i am fond of before. it certainly is subject to variation and doesn’t contain each and every artist that interests me, but it gives a decent overview. so far as this is possible, since my mind and attention are often all over the place.
hello Jana. have you ever experienced psychedelics?
i have not, even though i’ve always been curious about them.
perhaps somewhen, somewhere in a quiet place. until then i am preserving the bit of sanity i have left to the best of my ability.
pardon me, but i can not participate in that thing you call life.
i need to shut the blinds, get my shit together, and read georges perec until the winter is over.
